Live Scout Deep Dive
Established as the very first marina to grace the shores of Lake Anna, Lake Anna Marina has been a family-run cornerstone of the community since 1972. It offers a classic, unpretentious lake experience, blending the practical needs of boaters with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. This isn't a modern, upscale resort, but rather a genuine, welcoming hub where the focus is squarely on enjoying the water. The vibe is casual and laid-back, attracting a mix of local boat owners, families on vacation, and avid anglers. It's the kind of place where seasoned regulars exchange fishing tips at the fuel dock and kids build sandcastles on the beach.
The marina's aesthetic is functional and charmingly rustic, reflecting its long history on the lake. You'll find a well-stocked convenience store with marine supplies, snacks, and drinks, alongside a full-service repair shop and even an upholstery service. Recent visitors consistently praise the friendly and incredibly helpful staff, particularly highlighting the service department for going above and beyond to ensure boaters can maximize their vacation time on the water. This dedication to customer service fosters a strong sense of community and reliability, making it a trusted spot for both sales and service.
Local Tip
Unlike some of the newer, more developed spots on the lake, Lake Anna Marina retains an old-school charm. It's less about luxury amenities and more about authentic lake life. It's an ideal choice for those who appreciate a straightforward, friendly, and service-oriented marina experience.

Boat Rentals & Insider Tips
Lake Anna Marina offers straightforward pontoon boat rentals, perfect for a family cruise or a relaxed day of swimming in a quiet cove. They have several models available, such as a 7-person boat with a 70hp engine and an 11-person boat with a 90hp engine. It's important to book in advance, especially for weekends and holidays, as demand is high across the lake. Full payment is required to reserve a boat, and renters must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license. Keep in mind that fuel costs are not included in the rental price and you'll need to refuel the boat upon return.
Local Tip
The marina has a strict policy of no pets, no alcohol, and no towing (skiing or tubing) behind their rental boats. If watersports are a key part of your plan, you may need to consider other rental providers on the lake. These rules are in place to ensure safety and maintain the condition of their fleet, contributing to the family-friendly vibe.
For those looking to get the most out of their visit, the "local take" is to embrace the simplicity. Pack a picnic to enjoy at the beach, grab some snacks from the marina's store, and spend the day on the water. The sunsets from this part of the lake are often cited as being particularly beautiful. While the marina itself doesn't have a restaurant, several of Lake Anna's popular waterfront dining spots are easily accessible by boat, allowing you to combine a day of cruising with a unique dining experience. Lastly, remember that while the marina is a private business, it’s a welcoming one. Paying the small beach fee or renting a boat grants you access to enjoy the beautiful property and its classic Lake Anna views.

"😁We enjoyed our stay here very much! I read some of the lower rating comments & majority of them were laughable🤣 1 guy said he was sitting in dock enjoying the view all day & they asked him to leave since he had no business in the property. This isn't a public park my guy it's a business, he could've easily just paid the private beach fee then he could've easily stayed. Another complained about no animals on beach, I would rather not step in your dog's 💩 while walking, no thank you. (There was a lady who's Chihuahua had gotten out & ran onto the beach in my video that woke me up😴. Don't worry, the dog wasn't there to stay she picked the dog up quick & to them away) The beach was very nice, there's was a few families there was well & everyone had plenty of space. I threw up a hammock & took a nice nap, I saw another family had a hammock as well to enjoy. The water👌🏽 it was so warm & enjoyable! The lake in general can get a lot of sediment & I had googles with flippers & I could see surprisingly well. The 🐟 fish would swim up real fast & try to eat my legs\toes\feet which scared me a few times😅, I yelled bc I thought something bit me... It was cute. My son & nephew would try to catch the fish & with goggles they could clearly see under water The marina has refrigerated drinks & snacks you can buy, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have Crocks in the water there's rocks people throw & natural algae you might not like the feel. I would think they may sell sun screen & I would recommend it bc the days can get sunny & u fair skinned ppl don't want to look like a boiled lobster🤭 I saw one of the families rented a jet ski for a little bit from the marina & they were having a blast! Other families were in pontoons either rented or owned & they have fuel on site. I think there is a house you can rent which is right on the beach as well, I saw a family that was there & they rented the house for the whole weekend. The view is beautiful! I can just stare into the distance the sunset is amazing, I really did love it here! 😎"
