The Ride to Build Hope (516 Project Poker Run)
Program Details & Spotlights
Join motorcycle riders and community supporters for the 1st Annual Poker Run, a ride hosted by the 516 Project to 'Build Access to Hope.' Riders will hit the road for an exciting regional tour with multiple card-drawing stops before finishing at Log Home Brewing Company. The final celebration at the brewery features food, fellowship, prizes, and the announcement of winning poker hands, all to raise funds for accessible home modifications and disaster relief.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of the open road winding through the historic, rolling hills of Spotsylvania County, and there is no better reason to kickstart your engine than to support a life-changing local cause. The 1st Annual Ride to Build Hope brings together motorcycle enthusiasts and community advocates for a day of scenic cruising, camaraderie, and charity. Organized by the 516 Project—a faith-based disaster relief and home construction ministry—this inaugural event directly funds vital home repairs and accessibility ramp installations for our neighbors in need throughout the region.
Riders will embark on a beautifully mapped route that showcases the best of our local countryside, turning a classic poker run into a scenic tour of Virginia's heartland. At each designated stop along the way, participants will draw a card, building their poker hands as they navigate the twists and turns of our historic backroads. Whether you are a seasoned rider with a crew or a solo cruiser looking to connect with fellow locals, the energy on the road is set to be electric, driven by a shared mission to build access to hope.
The journey culminates at one of the region’s standout destinations: Log Home Brewing Company. Known for its warm, rustic timber-frame architecture and exceptionally crafted local pours, the brewery provides the perfect backdrop for the post-ride celebration. Even if you do not ride, the community is invited to gather here to welcome the riders back, enjoy hearty food, raise a glass of local craft beer, and see who takes home the prize for the winning poker hand. It is more than just a ride; it is a celebration of community resilience and neighborly love.
