Lake Anna Fourth of July Fireworks Show
Program Details & Spotlights
The Lake Anna Civic Association (LACA) presents its legendary 29th annual fireworks display, widely regarded as one of Central Virginia's premier summer traditions. Launched from Dike 2, this spectacular pyrotechnic show illuminates the night sky over the open water of the lake. It is completely funded by community donations and is visible to both the public and private sides of the reservoir. Waterfront decks, local marinas, and boats anchored on the water provide the ultimate vantage points.
There is nothing quite like Independence Day at Lake Anna. As the midsummer sun dips below the tree line, casting a golden amber hue across the water, a tangible wave of excitement sweeps over the reservoir. The annual Lake Anna Civic Association (LACA) Fourth of July Fireworks Show is the undisputed crown jewel of our summer season. Celebrating its 29th year, this spectacular pyrotechnic display transforms the night sky over Dike 2 into a brilliant canvas of light and color, drawing thousands of locals and visitors alike to celebrate the nation's birthday in true lake-fashion.
What makes this event so uniquely "Lake Anna" is its incredible vantage point. Launched from the elevated terrain of Dike 2, the fireworks are perfectly positioned to illuminate both the public (cold) and private (warm) sides of the lake. Whether you are floating in a pontoon boat in the middle of the wide-open water, lounging on a dock with a cold drink, or gathered with family on a glassy waterfront lawn, you will experience the thunderous echoes and shimmering reflections of Central Virginia’s premier over-water light show.
This legendary display is a true labor of love, funded entirely by the generous donations of our local community, businesses, and residents. It is a testament to the tight-knit spirit of Lake Anna. Year after year, the community rallies to keep this dazzling tradition alive, proving that the best views are those we share together. Pack your coolers, fire up the boat engine, and get ready for a magical night under the stars.
