Step back into the 19th-century gold rush of Spotsylvania County on this unique, ranger-led historical adventure. After touring the physical ruins of the historic Goodwin Gold Mine, guests will head down to the stream to learn authentic gold panning techniques. You can get your feet wet in the running water, try your luck with a panning dish, and keep any real gold or pyrite (fool's gold) you find! It's a memorable, hands-on activity for the whole family.

Park entrance fees apply ($7-$10/car). Meet at the Park Office. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and muddy. All equipment is provided; children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
